Let’s say ‘Hi’

We’re Jaro & Jorg and we’re both passionate about self-organization. If done right, it unleashes potential, gives tons of autonomy and delivers a thriving business. If done right.
We’ve seen and experienced it to fail in so many ways that we’ve chosen to give back what we learned so far. Because we have also seen it work. The most inspiring organizations we meet are able to do something unique. They allow for people to be free to create awesome products and services in a way that benefits the company while treating humans as humans. Unfortunately we also see a lot of companies who still treat people as factory workers. It’s not the 1920s anymore. We feel it’s time to move past these methods and into modern ways of being an organization.
To do so, we noticed many are willing and trying to move into this new era, but – just like us – most make the same vital mistake. The mistake is simple: doing things truly different on top of an old operating model. That old operating model holds the organization back from stepping into this new era. The question then arises: what are the alternatives?
They are scarce. There are almost no alternatives which redefine the ground-layer of the organization: the operating model. Holacracy and S3 come closest. We went deep into Holacracy, to find out years later that for us it’s too rigid and robotic while S3 is more free, but too much a-la-carte.
Do we think that Bloom is the answer for everyone? No. We have seen enough to know that there is no definitive solution. Bloom is another starting point. An alternative.
We wanted to share this alternative freely. Why? As strongly as we believe in the Agile principles, we believe in the open source approach. Better code gets created when more people are able to freely be involved. We believe that sharing will bring back knowledge.
